VIEW OUR CURRENT CALENDARSOut of the ashes it grew… Well actually there were no ashes and really no fire to speak of, but Denver Does Design evolved out of an appreciation of getting to know other design professionals that we wouldn’t normally come in contact with. After four extremely successful years of organizing the Meet the Dark Side networking event, our small group of volunteers believed the next stage was to help cross-pollinate all the fantastic events our individual groups were already hosting. And from there the idea of Denver Does Design was born.
Using the force…of networking. The Dark Side is the "other" professional organization and the Meet the Dark Side interdisciplinary networking event was created as a way to help introduce different professional organization members to one another in a casual and fun way. Food, drinks, and an ice breaker game are provided as a framework to help meet new people. There is no pressure to meet the dark side, however our recommendation is, "Do. Or not do. There is no try."
"There were several students and younger designers from architecture firms that really did not understand what our discipline was and especially how we can benefit them. You could see the light go on in their heads as they began to understand and then they engaged us with questions and focused discussions followed."
"There was a great amount of people that showed up. Having people there from related industries that do not normally have a chance to meet was my favorite part of the event."
"I made connections with some of the sponsors who'll hopefully help sponsor education events that I'm in charge of coordinating. Also it was a great event to reconnect and deepen already made connections."
"I made several new connections with emerging professionals and got reacquainted with some old colleagues from the past. Great mixer!"
