CO-FOUNDER / EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Cynthia is the Founder and Director of Biomimicry Design Alliance (BDA). BDA brings together architects, designers, scientists, and innovative technology solutions to make biomimicry more accessible to the design community. She received her Bachelor of Architecture from Rice University and her Master of Science in Biomimicry from the only accredited program in the world at Arizona State University. Cynthia is also an adjunct faculty member at the University of Colorado Denver's School of Architecture and Planning as well as at the Ecosa Institute, speaks about biomimicry all over the United States, and is a recipient of the 2019 American Institute of Architects (AIA) Young Architect Award. As a CoFounder of Denver Does Design, she is able to help make biomimicry more accessible to the architecture community, and to connect the design community as a whole.

Sarah aka “Barker” is a CoFounder of Denver Does Design and Associate Partner at Eastec Design Group, an interior design firm specializing in workplace design strategy, corporate standard development and interior design implementation. She has been actively involved with the Rocky Mountain Chapter of IIDA since 2005, and has played an integral role in establishing graphic standards for the local chapter that have been recognized at the international level. She continues to advocate for increased connectivity within the design community by creating the Denver Does Design website and Co-Chairing the inaugural YIP Award event to celebrate Young Industry Professionals. She encourages her design community to redefine the boundaries of design!

Steph is a motivated, organized, energetic and passionate designer who is always looking for a challenge. As a Senior Lighting Designer at AE Design, Inc, she is intimately knowledgeable with architecture, interiors and MEP design. She views lighting as her current avenue to create, learn and grow. Her technical skills as a CAD/BIM design technician and her artistic creative side bring an unmatchable talent to her portfolio of work. She is very active in the Denver Design Community and continues to excel as a leader on the board of Denver Does Design, the Board of Managers for the IESNA Chicago Chapter and as the Chair of the Emerging Professionals program.
As President and CEO of Metro Denver Local Development Corporation, Anthony has a demonstrated history of working in the civic & social organization industry. Skilled in Architectural Design, Urban Planning, Place-making, and Strategic Entrepreneurship, he is a strong asset to the Denver Design Community and as a Financial Director of Denver Does Design. He is a strong business development professional with a Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) focused in Architecture and Planning from University of Colorado at Denver.
Amanda Kannard is an Associate at Progressive Urban Management Associates (P.U.M.A.), where she provides project support for quantitative and qualitative analysis, market research and community engagement as well as graphic design for strategic and downtown planning initiatives. She received her master’s degree in urban planning and policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago and bachelor’s degree in geography and community and environmental sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is a member of the American Planning Association and Downtown Colorado, Inc, and continues to connect the design community in her role with Denver Does Design.
